Rays @ Cubs 2:20pm
Rays Moneyline (-135)
The angle behind this bet is the Rays ability to hit left handed pitching. Cubs starter Justin Steele is a lefty, and he’s coming off of his worst start of the season. In Steele’s most recent start, the Reds scored 6 runs off of him on 10 hits in just 3.2 innings. Today Justin Steele will face a Rays lineup that ranks 1st in the majors against lefties in batting average (.311), OBP (.372), SLG (.583), and OPS (.955). Rays starting pitcher Zach Eflin has been very good for the Rays this season. Tampa has won 8 of the 9 games Eflin has started. His metrics are at career best marks. Rays on the moneyline is our wager.

Marlins vs. Padres 6:40pm
Marlins Moneyline (+105)
A couple notes to consider with the home underdogs in this matchup. The Padres are starting lefty Blake Snell, who currently holds an ERA and FIP north of 5 (both career highs). His metrics are also at career worst marks in walks and home runs allowed. The Marlins offense has been fantastic against left handed pitching this season. Miami ranks top 5 in the MLB against lefties in batting average, slugging percentage, and OPS. Marlins starting pitcher Braxton Garrett's metrics are a bit misleading. He had one terrible start against the Braves in early May (allowed 11 earned runs). Outside of that one dreadful start, Braxton Garrett has been very good this season. Our wager is a half unit on the home underdogs.
