What’s more concerning was Ryu’s velocity and spin rates. Ryu had a pretty serious UCL injury and had missed most of the 2022 season. His fastball was sitting around 89 mph last week, with a barrel percentage of over 10%. Guardians starter Gavin Wiliams has struggled a bit with walks, but he’s one of the top pitching prospects in the MLB. Williams has allowed 5 hits or less in his last four starts. He also has not allowed a home run in 5 five consecutive starts, which included games against the Astros, Phillies, and Rangers. There is some risk here with the Guardians, as a suspension for Jose Ramirez could take him out of the lineup tonight. We are hoping that the suspension occurs tomorrow, or later this week. Our wager is on the +0.5 run line through the first 5 innings of the game. The Guardians must either be tied or winning at the conclusion of the 5th inning for this ticket to win.
