The Open Championship Best Bets From SteadyPicks (British Open)

Tommy Fleetwood To Win (+2800)

Tommy Fleetwood Top 20 Finish (+115)

Tommy Fleetwood was right in the mix last weekend at the Genesis Scottish Open. A double bogey on the 18th hole dropped him to a T-6th finish, but Fleetwood played great outside of a few holes. He gained at least 1 stroke in every key metric, and his putter is scorching hot! Fleetwood tied for 4th at the British Open last year, and has finished inside of the top 6 in three of his last four events. It's also worth noting that Tommy Fleetwood grew up about 20 miles away from this course. If nothing else, he should be more familiar with this course than the majority of the field. We are going with two separate bets on Fleetwood. A half unit on a top 20 finish, and a quarter unit on the outright win.

Tyrrell Hatton To Win (+2500)

Tyrrell Hatton Top 20 Finish (+120)

We should just have a rinse and repeat written here every week for Tyrrell Hatton. If you have been following SteadyPicks golf picks this season, you have likely noticed that we place these same two bets every week. Hatton is a top 20 machine! He’s finished inside the top 20 in seven of his last eight events. Last weekend at the Genesis Scottish Open, Hatton was the betting favorite Saturday night heading into Sunday. He plays great in tough conditions, and finished T-11th at this event last year. Hatton has given us no reason to back away from betting on him. He ranks 17th on the PGA Tour in total driving, 6th in strokes gained putting, and 3rd in strokes gained total. We believe that win is coming soon for Hatton, it's just a matter of time for a player of his caliber. When it happens, we will have an outright ticket in our pockets.

Brian Harman Top 40 Finish (+125)

Brian Harman has been playing very good golf in his last three tournaments. He tied for 2nd at the Travelers Championship, tied for 9th at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, and tied for 12th last weekend at the Genesis Scottish Open. Harman finished 6th at last year's Open Championship, and 19th the year prior. He has a good track record overseas, and carries good momentum into the event. Our wager is on Brian Harman to finish within the top 40 this weekend.

Patrick Reed Top 40 Finish (+110)

Patrick Reed is a bit of a wild card pick for us this weekend. Reed finished tied for 4th at the Masters, tied for 18th at the PGA Championship, and tied for 56th at the U.S. Open. In his most recent LIV event (played in London), Reed shot -14 in three rounds. He’s in good form heading into this event. We are taking a half unit flier on Reed to finish in the top 40.

Viktor Hovland Top 10 Finish (+240)

Viktor Hovland ranks 5th on the PGA Tour in total driving, and 7th in strokes gained off the tee. His putting and short game have been trending upward this season. Hovland has played well in all of the big events in 2023. He finished T-3rd at the Players Championship, T-7th at the Masters, T-2nd at the PGA Championship, and 19th at the U.S. Open. Viktor Hovland also picked up a win at the Memorial Tournament, and he finished top 25 last weekend at the Genesis Scottish Open. He has a good track record at the British Open finishing T-4th last year, and T-12th the year prior. We are going with a half unit wager on Hovland to finish within the top 10.
