This is a rare spot where we are going to take an over in a heavily bet primetime game. The Oregon offense is phenomenal. Their lowest point total of the season was 33 points (on the road against Washington). They have a Heisman caliber QB in Bo Nix. While the Utah defense is a very good unit, we anticipate the Oregon offense being able to have success. The strength of Utah’s offense is primarily their rushing attack. Oregon’s run defense is solid, but Utah should be able to have success on the ground. Utah is one of the best home teams in the nation. They’ve won 18 straight home games! Utah being nearly a full touchdown underdog at home should tell you how talented the Oregon offense is. Our wager is a half unit on both offenses to perform well, and for the game to go over 47 total points.

This is an interesting matchup between two teams with very different strengths. Marshall has a fantastic defense, but their offense has been underwhelming. Coastal Carolina has a good offense, but their defense leaves a lot to be desired. They say matchups make fights, and that statement remains true across all sports. For us, this game comes down to Coastal Carolina’s quarterback Grayson McCall. The 5th year senior returned to the team after receiving a lot of interest from Power 5 Conference schools. His numbers have regressed from last season, but McCall looks to be getting back into his elite form. He went 24/28 with 2 TD’s and nearly a perfect passer rating last week. Coastal Carolina has scored 27 points or more in 3 consecutive weeks. Marshall has lost 3 straight games after starting the season 4-0. Their offense mustered just 9 points against James Madison last week. Marshall’s QB Cam Fancher completed just over 50% of his passes, failed to throw a TD, and threw 1 interception. We feel comfortable grabbing the 4 points with the better QB and offense, who will be behind their home crowd. Our wager is a half unit on Coastal Carolina +4.

This is a spot where most college football fans are expecting a bounce back from Tennessee. The Vols had a nice first half lead against Alabama last week, but got rolled in the second half of the game. This will be the 2nd straight road game for Tennessee, in back to back weeks. Meanwhile, Kentucky had an extra week of rest and preparation leading up to this game. After an impressive win against Florida to move Kentucky to 5-0, they were blown out in their last 2 games (Georgia & Missouri). For whatever it’s worth, Tennessee lost to Florida. However, the Vols played on the road in the swamp, whereas Kentucky played Florida in Lexington. We like Kentucky’s chances to keep this game competitive, and to stay within the 4 points. Our wager is a half unit on the home dogs.

Despite being on the road, we like this matchup for Troy. There’s an old saying that “defense travels” and that is exactly what we expect to see with Troy today. PFF has the Troy defense ranked top 5 in the nation. Keep in mind these PFF metrics are not adjusted to the opponents strength of schedule. Troy’s last 3 opponents have scored a combined 10 points. This looks to be a really tough matchup for a struggling Texas State offense. Our metrics suggest Troy is a full 7 points better than Texas State, even on the road. We will lay the -6.5 points behind the road team.
