Pat Sabatini vs. Damon Jackson
Pat Sabatini Moneyline (-175)
This (-175) recently became available at DraftKings. FanDuel currently has Sabatini priced at (-215), and most other books have him around (-200). Our goal here is to get this bet in a bit early and get strong closing line value. Damon Jackson is on a 3 fight win streak, but he got in some trouble in his last fight. Pat Sabatini is 4-0 since joining the UFC. The former CFFC champion comes out the Renzo Grace Philly gym. This gym features fighters such as Sean Brady, Andre Petroski, Jeremiah Wells, and Joe Pyfer (who will be making his UFC debut on this card). You won't find a gym that has a higher win percentage in the UFC than this team here in Philly. Our bet is 2 units on Pat Sabatini to win the fight.
Cory Sandhagen vs. Song Yadong
Cory Sandhagen Moneyline (-190)
It's crazy to think that Cory Sandhagen is coming off of back to back losses. He looked very good against both Dillashaw and Yan, and there's many MMA fans who would argue the judges decisions in both of those fights. Song Yadong has won 4 of his last 5 fights, and has some impressive wins on his resume. For us, our pick comes down Cory Sandhagen's experience, and his unique movements and pace that should put him in position to win rounds. Song Yadong has never fought beyond the 3rd round, whereas Cory Sandhagen has been in back to back 5 round wars with the elite of the division. Our bet is 1.5 units on Cory Sandhagen to win.
Joe Pyfer vs. Alen Amedovski
Joe Pyfer By KO/TKO (-145)
As mentioned in the Pat Sabatini write up, Joe Pyfer also fights out of the Renzo Grace Philly gym. He has heavy hands as we saw on this seasons debut of Dana White's Contender Series. Pyfer earned a contract with a big knockout! His opponent Alen Amedovski is 0-3 in the UFC. Amendovski has been knocked out, submitted, and lost by decision. The Pyfer by submission prop at (+450) is also appealing and worthy of a play, but we are going to opt for the knockout. Our bet is one unit.
Purdue @ Syracuse 12:00pm
Purdue +2 (-110)
Syracuse has 2 big wins to start the season. They were 5.5 point dogs against Louisville in their first game and won 31-7. The market adjusted in their second game where they were a 24 point favorite against UConn, and Syracuse covered with ease. In game 3 for Syracuse, they sit as a favorite against a good Purdue team. Our numbers suggest the market has adjusted a bit too far for Syracuse. This Purdue team has a ton of upperclassman, and they took a talented Penn State team down to the wire. We will take the points with road dogs.
BYU @ Oregon 3:30pm
BYU +3.5 (-106)
Getting BYU as an underdog has been an extremely rare occurrence. Since 2019, only Alabama, Clemson, Wisconsin, Georgia, and Ohio State have been underdogs less than BYU. Oregon got crushed by Georgia in their first game (49-3), and did not look to be a team that can compete with the elite of the SEC. They rebounded with a win against Eastern Washington, but there's not much to take away from that win. Our numbers suggest on a neutral field this game would be a true pick em, and we do not agree that the Oregon home field is worth 3.5 points. BYU beat a good Baylor team last week, and has looked better than Oregon on both sides of the ball 2 weeks in. We will grab the 3.5 points with BYU for a unit.
LSU vs. Mississippi State 6:00pm
LSU +3 (-110)
Death Valley (Baton Rouge) is a very difficult place to play. Especially in a primetime night conference game. Mississippi State looked very good in their first two games, but those games were against Arizona and Memphis. LSU suffered a tough loss against Florida State, but this team has a lot of talent and high recruits. We will back them as home underdogs tonight. Our bet is one unit on LSU +3.
Michigan State @ Washington 7:30pm
Michigan State +3.5 (-106)
There's a good shot that this could be the trap game of the week. Here we have the good old unranked team favored against a highly ranked team. Often times, these spots are traps for bettors, and letdown spots for ranked teams. This game is in Washington, and the Huskies are 2-0 to start the season. However, those two games were against Kent State and Portland State. This will be a big test for the Huskies, and until they prove they can pass it, we will gladly take the points with a stout Big Ten conference Michigan State team. Our bet is one unit on the road dogs.
USC vs. Fresno State 10:30pm
Fresno State +11.5 (-110)
Fresno State went toe to toe with Oregon State last week and suffered a tough 32-35 loss. This Fresno State offense will be USC's toughest test so far this season. The betting market seems to be high on USC after two big wins to open the Lincoln Riley era. The point total in this game is extremely high (72), suggesting a shootout between these two good offenses. Fresno State has a bye after this game, whereas USC has a big conference game against up next Oregon State. This could be a potential look ahead spot. We are going to grab the +11.5 with the road dogs. Our bet is a half unit on Fresno State to cover.
