Steelers +2.5 (-110)
We really like this spot for the Steelers as a short home divisional dog. Here is a thought for all of the football bettors to pin in the back of your head for this season. When the sportsbooks identify a road team that the public is going to get behind, who they feel is vulnerable to lose, they will often set the line around -2.5 or -2. The books will try to bait in tickets on the favorite, knowing that the home team has a good shot to pull off the upset. In divisional games, this spot strengthens. When the home underdog was blown out the week prior, and the road team is coming off of a big win, this spot becomes even more appealing for us. The books haven’t let bettors get anywhere near a +3 on Pittsburgh all week/weekend. This spot screams Steelers to us, and that is where our bet is going. Pittsburgh will be without a key piece on offense (Dionte Johnson), and a key piece on defense (Cam Heyward). The Browns will be missing one of their starting tackles (Jack Conklin). Cleveland’s top WR Amari Cooper is questionable tonight with a groin injury. It’s important to reiterate that as much as we like this spot, it’s not always going to work out in our favor. The Patriots game last night was a very similar spot, and the road favorites won. With that being said, we believe this spot will work out in our favor more times than not. We will hold firm with a 1 unit wager on the Steelers +2.5. Enjoy the game!
