Phillies Moneyline (-138)
The Phillies suffered a brutal 1-0 loss last night, with the only run scoring on a botched fly ball. In the first game of this series (Friday), the Phillies went 1 for 6 with runners in scoring position and left 10 runners on base throughout the game. Today the Phillies offense will look to get back on track in what looks to be a bullpen game for the Guardians. Some sportsbooks have Peyton Battenfield listed as the starter for Cleveland. Battenfield has an ERA and FIP north of 5, and the Guardians are 0-7 in the games he has appeared in this season. Other sportsbooks have Xzavion Curry listed as the starter, who rarely pitches beyond 2-3 innings. It’s likely that we will see both Battenfield and Curry pitch for the Guardians today. The Phillies will start Aaron Nola, who had a tough start to the season. However, Nola has turned it around. He has a 3.03 ERA and 0.87 WHIP in the month of July. Nola’s numbers have consistently been improving since May. The Phillies bullpen has become one of the best units in the MLB over the last couple of months. Phillies on the moneyline is our wager.
