Fantasy Football & Betting Prop Outlook On Titans RB Derrick Henry
King Henry is still one of the elite running backs in the NFL. He finished second last season in rushing yards to only Josh Jacobs. Henry finished the season with 349 carries (most in NFL) for 1,538 yards (4.4 avg yards per carry) and 13 rushing touchdowns.

Our concern with Derrick Henry has nothing to do with his talent and ability to perform at a high level. What unsettles us is his workload, his contract, and his team. Henry enters the final deal of a 4 year contract that began in 2020. Over the last three seasons, Henry has carried the ball 1,016 times in just the regular season alone (including rushes and receptions). No player in the NFL has carried the ball more. Henry had over 850 touches prior to the 2020 season, which is not the case for the other running backs who have sustained a big workload over the last three seasons.

Outside of Henry’s workload and contract, we are uneasy about this Titans offense. PFF currently projects the Titans to have the worst offensive line amongst all 32 NFL teams. The Titans drafted Peter Skoronski in the first round, and signed Andre Dillard (who didn’t start on the Eagles). This offensive line has a lot of question marks. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill will look to bounce back this season, but there’s certainly a possibility that the Titans will have either Will Levis or Malik Willis under center at some point this season. Neither of those QB’s present a significant passing threat.

Overall, there are too many question marks surrounding Derrick Henry and the Titans. He is a player that we will look to avoid in the 1st round of fantasy football drafts. It is worth exploring some potential under’s in the prop market once these become available. Most books do not currently have betting props for Derrick Henry.

Always gamble responsibly.
