Rays @ Astros 7:15pm
Rays Moneyline (+116)
This matchup features two very young starting pitchers. Both have been struggling this summer. Astros starter Hunter Brown has allowed 12 hits and 3 home runs in his last two starts (11.1 innings). Those starts came against the Rockies and Athletics. Prior to those two starts, Hunter Brown got rocked by both the Rangers and Mariners. He allowed 10 hits in 4 innings against the Rangers, and 8 hits in just 3 innings against the Mariners. The Rays will start Taj Bradley. Tampa has lost the last 5 games that Taj Bradley has started. The rookie held an impressive 3.60 ERA and 2.80 FIP heading into June, but has hit some speed bumps throughout the summer. It’s worth noting that Bradley’s losses are coming against the top offenses in the MLB. He’s faced the Braves, Rangers, and Orioles in his last 3 starts. The Rays bullpen holds the better metrics both recently, and over the course of the full season. In what looks to be very close to a 50-50 matchup, we will take the (+116) price behind the road dogs. Our wager is a half unit on the Rays moneyline.
