Orioles @ Nationals 7:05pm
Orioles Moneyline (-140)
A lot of MLB bettors see Patrick Corbin pitching and immediately bet the other way. His numbers are terrible, he's 6-18 with a 6.30 ERA. To make matters worse, Corbin plays on the worst team in the MLB. That being said, Corbin has actually pitched really well in 2 of his last 3 starts. In his most recent start, Corbin was hit hard by the Phillies. However, he beat the Mets on the road and threw 7 strong innings in the start prior. So while we are fading the Nationals tonight, it is not because of Patrick Corbin. Orioles starting pitcher Tyler Wells pitched 2 innings in his first start back from the IL. It was his first start in over a month, and Wells looked solid. Prior to his injury, Tyler Wells was having a breakout season! Out of his 21 starts this season, Tyler Wells allowed more than 6 hits in a start just once. That's an odd stat, but it tells us that Wells consistently provides quality outings. He shutout the Nationals back in June. The Orioles bullpen has not been as dominant lately, but they still have an edge on the Nationals bullpen. As we noted yesterday, the Orioles are fighting for their playoff lives. They are 5 games back in the AL wild card race. This is a game where they need to take care of business against the worst team in the league. Our bet is one unit on the Orioles moneyline.
