Guardians vs. Rays 12:07pm
Guardians Moneyline (-107)
The Guardians are in a great spot to advance today. Their starting pitcher Triston McKenzie has been fantastic down the stretch of this season. In his 6 starts throughout September/October, McKenzie held an ERA of 2.09, and the Guardians won 5 of those 6 games. In the lone loss, McKenzie exited the game with a tie score and did not record a loss. Triston McKenzie faced the Rays one time this season and he pitched 6 strong innings. The Rays offense is struggling right now, and their starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow has only pitched in 2 games the entire season. The Rays lost both of those games. Both teams have very good bullpens, but we will side with the home team to get the win and advance. Our bet is a half unit on the Guardians to win.
Cardinals vs. Phillies 8:37pm
Cardinals Moneyline (+106)
Our staff here at SteadyPicks would be thrilled to lose this bet and see our hometown Phillies advance. However, our numbers suggest the wrong team is favored. Aaron Nola will be making his first career postseason start tonight. While Nola has been pitching very well (2.36 ERA in 6 starts throughout September/October), the Cardinals hit him hard last time he came to St. Louis. Back in July, Nola gave up 7 hits and 5 earned runs in his only start against the Cardinals this season. The Phillies have seen Cardinals starting pitcher Miles Mikolas twice, and the Phillies scored just 3 runs off of him in 12.2 innings. Mikolas has been sharp in nearly all of his last 10 starts. He pitched well in the postseason back in 2019 (1.50 postseason ERA in 12 innings). We will take the plus money on the home team. Our bet is a half unit.
