March Madness Bets For Thursday 3/24/22
Arkansas +10 vs. Gonzaga 7:09pm
Simply put, this it too many points to give a team as talented as Arkansas. Neither one of these teams has played great through the first 2 rounds. Gonzaga let Georgia State hang with them for 75% of the game in round 1, and Memphis gave Gonzaga everything they could handle in round 2. For Arkansas, they got 2 tough draws with Vermont in round 1 (who had an elite offense), and New Mexico State in round 2. Arkansas ranks 14th in defensive efficiency (via KenPom), and despite a terrible offensive performance, they were able to beat New Mexico State with elite defense. While the Arkansas offense is not great, they do have guards like JD Notae who can create their own shot and make plays. Arkansas offense will need to show up to cash this ticket, but we will gladly take the 10 points with a team of this caliber, and we will live with the result. Our bet is one unit.
Duke +1 vs. Texas Tech 9:39pm
If there's one thing to take out of this write up, it's that the Texas Tech defense is ELITE, and the Duke offense is ELITE. Texas Tech has the #1 adjusted defensive efficiency rating in the country (via KenPom). The reason we are fading Texas Tech tonight is because Duke has a significant edge offensively (#4 in the nation in adjusted offensive efficiency). AJ Griffin is expected to play after being listed as questionable all week. Ultimately, you're either betting on defense or offense with these teams. We will side with the better offense, and a legendary coach to get the job done and survive and advance tonight.
