Some may remember this FAU team from their incredible run in the NCAA Tournament last season. FAU went to the Final Four (lost by 1 point to San Diego State). The FAU Owls returned all 5 starters and re-signed their head coach Dusty May to a long term contract. Loyola also brought back a good portion of their team from last season, but that group went 10-21 last season. We see a big enough talent gap to feel comfortable laying the 6 points. Our wager is a half unit on FAU -6.

Mississippi State looks to have a very talented team this season. However, their best returning player Tolu Smith is out until conference play. Smith is an irreplaceable 6’10 1st team all SEC senior. Mississippi State also has a couple of other players out via suspension and injury. The Arizona State Sun Devils were extremely active in acquiring talent in the transfer portal. Their head coach Bobby Hurley seems to be eager to put together a winning group like his brother Dan Hurley has done at UConn. Bobby Hurley has been very good in openers in his tenure coaching ASU. He tends to have his teams ready to go right out of the gate. We will take the +4 points behind Arizona State. Our stake is a half unit.
