Chiefs Moneyline (-120)
For anyone looking for a more detailed breakdown of this game, we have an article posted HERE
detailing the matchup and the market.
The Bengals have become a pretty big public side in this matchup. It’s being reported that about 65-70% of the tickets are coming in on the Bengals. However, despite only accounting for about 30-35% of the ticket count, over 50% of the total money is on the Chiefs. Many bettors often joke and refer to games with betting splits like this as “Pros vs. Joe's” matchups. However, we don’t see that to be the case here at all. There is certainly respected money on both sides of this game. Our bet came down to two factors that we feel impacted this line, which are market speculation, and recency bias. The market is at an all time high on the Bengals after their decisive win in Buffalo last week. In addition to that, we believe if Patrick Mahomes were healthy heading into this game (which he might be), the line would be closer to Chiefs -2.5 or -3. While we don’t know the true status of Patrick Mahomes health, he's practiced most of the week. Reports suggest he is good to go, so that is what we will go by. Chiefs coach Andy Reid has a tremendous amount of Conference Championship experience. We trust Andy Reid and this experienced Chiefs offense to find a way to win behind their home crowd at Arrowhead (or Burrowhead as the Bengals call it). It's no secret that Patrick Mahomes has yet to defeat Joe Burrow, but we will see if that remains true after this game today. Our bet is on the Chiefs moneyline.
