Phillies @ Cubs 7:40pm
Phillies Moneyline (-165)
Phillies starting pitcher Zack Wheeler looked sharp in his return from the IL last week. Wheeler pitched 4 shutout innings, allowing only 2 hits to a potent Blue Jays offense. The Phillies have a 1.5 game lead on the final spot in the NL wild card, but the Brewers are right on their tail. Cubs starting pitcher Marcus Stroman is having a solid season, but the Cubs are just 7-16 in the games he's started. We will take the better offense, and the better starting pitcher. Our bet is one unit on the Phillies moneyline.
Orioles @ Red Sox 7:10pm
Orioles Moneyline (+110)
The Red Sox are in a free fall. They've lost 6 straight games and are officially eliminated from playoff contention. The Orioles on the other hand are still fighting for a playoff spot. Orioles starting pitcher Kyle Bradish is coming off of a 10 strikeout, 8 inning shutout win against the Astros. Red Sox starter Michael Wacha is having a very good season, but his hard hit rate has been up in September. The Orioles have a much better bullpen than the Red Sox. Our bet is a half unit on the road dogs to win.
Padres vs. Dodgers 9:40pm
Padres Moneyline (-102)
We like a half unit flyer here behind a starting pitcher who has looked dominant in 3 of his last 4 starts. We are referring to Padres starter Blake Snell, a former Cy Young winner with the Rays. This Dodgers lineup is never an easy task for a pitcher, but we do see an edge here for Snell over Dodgers starter Tyler Anderson. The Padres also need this win much more than the Dodgers do, so don't be surprised if the Dodgers roll out a lineup with some of their starters out.
