Marlins @ Reds 6:40pm
Marlins Moneyline (+115)
We see an edge for the Marlins both in this starting pitching matchup, and in the bullpens. Reds starting pitcher Nick Lodolo did not look sharp in his last start. He lasted just 2 innings, gave up 5 earned runs, and walked 3 hitters. Lodolo is a young pitcher (24 years old) that has earned a reputation for being a bit wild. He's been hit pretty hard in 4 of his 6 starts this season. Marlins starting pitcher Trevor Rodgers is having a rough season. The Marlins have lost his last 3 starts, however, he's a bright prospect and has been far more consistent than Nick Lodolo. The Reds have the worst bullpen in the MLB. We will back the Marlins as road dogs for one unit.
Mariners vs. Rangers 10:10pm
Mariners Moneyline (-147)
The Mariners wild win streak came to an end in their last series, they were swept by the Astros at home. Tonight we like this matchup for the Mariners to get back in the win column behind Chris Flexen. The Mariners have won 5 straight games that Flexen has started, and he's allowed just 2 earned runs in the month of July (3 starts). The Rangers have lost the last 5 games that Glenn Otto has started, and the Mariners took him deep two times in his last start. The Mariners bullpen has been much improved over the last couple of months. Our bet is one unit on the Mariners moneyline.
Phillies vs. Braves 7:05pm
Phillies Moneyline (+158)
The Phillies have had a dreadful start to the 2nd of the season, dropping 3 straight to the Cubs at home. They are trending in the wrong direction, but this is an intriguing matchup tonight for a couple of reasons. First, while Max Fried is certainly a great pitcher, the Phillies happen to hit left handed pitching very well. Several players in the Phillies lineup have had a lot of success against Fried. Second, betting on Phillies starter Ranger Suarez has been a profitable spot this season. The Phillies are 10-6 in the games Suarez has started, and he's coming off of a strong start in his last outing. It is worth noting that Suarez has oddly been much better on the road than at home in Philadelphia. We expect his numbers at home to progress throughout the rest of the season, and hopefully that will begin tonight. At this (+158) price, we will take a half unit flyer on the Phillies to cash as home divisional dogs.
