They call this kid Sedriques Dumas “The Reaper'', he has a ton of hype coming off of Dana White’s contender series. Dumas has a 7-0 professional record, with 6 of his 7 wins coming by finish. Dumas is a threat for a submission or a knockout, his average professional fight time is just 47 seconds! His opponent Josh Fremd is 0-2 in the UFC, but our bigger concern with Fremd is his 26% takedown defense. Dumas has 100% takedown accuracy heading into this fight, so we anticipate him being able to get Fremd down. Some have concerns about the lack of experience for Sedriques Dumas with only 7 professional fights, but Dumas did have 10 amateur fights. This line has moved toward Dumas since it opened. We are rolling with a 1.5 unit wager on Dumas to get the win. Keep in mind, he went to a lot of decisions in his amateur career. So while he has a lot of finishes recently, a decision win is certainly a possible outcome.

Despite a bit of juice at (-150), we see value here with a far superior grappler. The market seems to be a bit down on Romanov after a tough loss against Marcin Tybura. Many MMA bettors have concerns with Romanov’s cardio after watching him gas out in that fight. Alexander Volkov is coming off of an impressive first round KO against Jairzinho Rozenstruik. Alexander Volkov should have the striking edge to go with his height and reach advantage. However, the grappling discrepancy is large. Romanov averages over 5 takedowns per 15 minutes, and he is an extremely dangerous submission threat. Romanov has won over 50% of his 17 professional fights by submission. It's worth noting, Volkov does have decent takedown defense (71%). We saw Marcin Tybura unable to take Volkov down in 16 attempts a few fights back! That said, Curtis Blaydes took Volkov down 14 times, and we believe Romanov’s takedown ability is more comparable to Blaydes than Tybura. Our wager is one unit on the better grappler to win.
