SteadyPicks Best Bets For College Football Week 10
Ole Miss vs. Texas A&M 12:00pm
Ole Miss -2.5 (-125)
We like this spot for Ole Miss playing at home today at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. Ole Miss grades out higher on both sides of the ball. Outside of one loss against Alabama (Ole Miss led at halftime), this team has handled business. Ole Miss has a big win over LSU. Ole Miss will head into Georgia next week for what could be the game of the year in the SEC, with huge playoff implications. Texas A&M is a tough opponent whose only losses have come against top notch programs (Tennessee, Alabama, Miami). The Aggies have a fantastic defense, but we have some concerns about their offense. Texas A&M’s offensive line has been terrible pass blocking. They are one of the lowest graded pass blocking offensive lines in the entire nation. That’s a big liability going up against an Ole Miss defense that is great in pass coverage, and gets a lot of pressure on opposing QBs. We are going to pay a little extra juice to get this spread on the better side of the 3. Ole Miss -2.5 is our wager.

Coastal Carolina @ Old Dominion 3:30pm
Coastal Carolina Moneyline (-113)
In full transparency, we took a bit of a gamble betting this game early in the week. Our goal was trying to get ahead of Coastal Carolina QB Grayson McCall’s injury status. McCall went into concussion protocol last week, but all signs were pointing to him passing and being able to start this game. If McCall was cleared, we anticipated that this line would move closer to Coastal Carolina -3. Unfortunately, here we are on gameday, and McCall has not passed concussion protocol. He is not expected to play, and has been ruled out by many media outlets. While Coastal Carolina should still have a solid opportunity to win this game, we would have preferred to have McCall under center. Old Dominion nearly upset undefeated James Madison last week, but they also allowed 41 points to a Marshall team that Coastal Carolina just beat 34-6 last week. Let’s see if Coastal Carolina can find a way to win this game without their starting QB. We are locked in on the Coastal Carolina moneyline. If you didn’t already bet this one, consider this write up thoroughly before betting it.

USC vs. Washington 7:30pm
USC +3 (-110)
USC bettors have gotten absolutely crushed this season. The Trojans are 2-7 against the spread. Value has been hard to come by with this USC team, but today we see a good opportunity to back them. As impressive as Washington’s offense and Heisman candidate QB Michael Penix Jr. have been this season, their defense has left some question marks. Washington allowed 32 points to Cal, 33 to Oregon (an elite offense), and 33 to Stanford last week. The Huskies also neatly got upset by Arizona State. Comparing Washington to some of the other top teams in the nation, they have significantly worse tackling and pass rush metrics. As bad as the USC defense has been, their offense is very good. USC QB Caleb Williams has a 133 passer rating with a clean pocket this season. The trailing Heisman winner, Wiliams, is torching defenses who give him time to throw! USC has a ton of playmakers on offense who can take advantage of poor tackling. We like USC’s chances of either keeping this game within a field goal, or winning it outright. USC +3 is our wager.

Alabama vs. LSU 7:45pm
Alabama -3 (-112)
LSU is dealing with a lot of key injuries on the defensive side of the ball. The LSU offense is one of the best, if not the best in the entire nation. The Tigers QB Jayden Daniels is playing at a Heisman level. This will be the toughest test to date for the LSU offense. Alabama is coming off of a bye. They had two full weeks to prepare for LSU. If we know one thing about Nick Saban, he’s one of the best coaches in NCAA history at taking advantage of extra preparation time. While Alabama may have the less potent offense, their offense has been trending in the right direction. Alabama’s QB Jalen Milroe has improved drastically over the past month. Milroe has faced some really tough defenses including Texas, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and Tennessee. We expect Alabama to utilize their run game on offense, and try to prevent this game from becoming a shootout, which would favor LSU. We will lay the -3 points with Alabama. Roll tide!
