The spread in this Thursday Night matchup is a bit odd to us. Most NFL fans and bettors would agree that based on the eye test, the 49ers should roll past this Giants team who will be without Saquan Barkley, and starting left tackle Andrew Thomas. The 49ers are healthy, and already look to be in mid season form. San Francisco is catching the large portion of the tickets and money, yet the books have not moved off of their number. Rather than bet on a side that feels suspicious, we will look at the 44 point total. If the 49ers defense plays at the level they did in week 1, it’s hard to imagine the Giants being able to muster many points. San Francisco’s defense was extremely tough at home last season. If the 49ers pull ahead early, there’s a good chance they will run the ball, and grind the clock, which plays to our benefit with the under. 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan has been bit by the injury bug a lot in his coaching tenure. Don’t be surprised to see him grind that clock, get his team out of there with a win, and an extra 3 days rest for the following week. Our wager is a half unit only.
