The large majority of the ticket splits are on the fan favorite Max Holloway, which makes this reverse line movement a bit concerning for Holloway bettors. On the other side of that thought process, we are beginning to see better value on the Holloway side. We grabbed a (-165), and unfortunately just minutes later this line moved to (-155). We recommend shopping around and finding the best number possible. The market is all over the place ranging from (-155) to (-180). In terms of this matchup, Max Holloway has proven his ability to box with high volume and pace for 5 rounds. Arnold Allen has not proven this yet. Max has never been finished in his UFC career. We encourage you to take a look at the fighters on Holloway’s resume. After doing so, that stat will impress you even more. Holloway's only losses since 2014 have come against Volk and Poirier. Arnold Allen has looked great in his last two fights. However, Max Holloway averages nearly double the amount of significant strikes per minute, and has 84% takedown defense. If Allen can’t get a finish (which nobody has been able to do), we struggle to see a clear path of victory on the scorecards. Maybe the wear and tear on Max comes into play here, and damage becomes a factor more than volume. Regardless, we will take our chances here with the more experienced, and higher volume fighter in Max Holloway. Our wager is 1 unit on the moneyline.
