Mets vs. Brewers 7:10pm
Mets -0.5 F5 Innings (-135)
Here we are backing Justin Verlander and the Mets through the first 5 innings of this game. It’s been a down season for Verlander so far. He enters this game with a 2-4 record, 4.50 ERA, and 1.212 WHIP in 9 starts (52 innings). Verlander has been much better at home holding a solid 0.960 WHIP at Citi Field. It’s interesting to note that Verlander had similar early summer struggles in his 2022 Cy Young winning season last year. He allowed 21 runs from May 27th to June 18th (30.2 innings). In Verlander's final start last June he pitched an 8 inning shutout, and proceeded to go 4-0 with a 1.01 ERA in July. This is a great opportunity for Verlander to get on track against a Brewers offense that is hitting just .203 as a team in their last 11 games (3rd worst in MLB). Brewers starting pitcher Colin Rea is 1-2 with a 5.06 ERA on the road this season. Rae has given up 8 earned runs in his last 10.1 innings. Both of these bullpens have been unreliable this season. We are opting to remove the later innings with a first 5 innings bet. In order for this ticket to cash, the Mets must be winning by 1 run or more at the conclusion of the 5th inning.
