The Orlando Magic have been a surprise this season. This team has outperformed most NBA fans expectations so far. However, the Magic don’t match up very well against the Cavs roster. Orlando has built their offense around scoring at the rim, where they take a league leading 38% of their shots. The Magic have shown a weakness to strong interior defenses like that of Cleveland, with only the 16th best field goal percentage on shots within 5 feet. We anticipate that the Cavs elite rim defense will be able to stifle the Magic, and end their win streak. Our wager is a half unit on the Cavaliers -4.

We are laying the -3.5 points behind the Toronto Raptors at home against the Heat tonight. Even in down seasons, the Raptors own a legit home court advantage. Their performance tends to improve in both the box score and against the spread when at home. The Raptors are 4-1 against the spread in their last 5 home games. Toronto will be playing Miami tonight without Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo. The Raptors are already furnishing a top 10 defense in the league. Without two of Miami’s key pieces, alongside the Raptors home-court advantage, we feel comfortable laying the -3.5 points. Our stake is a half unit.

Our third and final bet of the night will be backing the Oklahoma City Thunder at -2.5 on the road against the Rockets. The Houston Rockets have been a significantly better team at home versus on the road. That being said, this young Thunder roster is starting to learn how to win on the road. OKC has played almost equally as well in away games this season, with their core players averaging very similar marks in their home/road splits. The Thunder currently own the 5th best offense and 5th best defense in the league. They have managed to outshoot their opponents by 5.5% from the field and 5.7% from three point range. OKC has been sporting a well-balanced effort on both sides of the ball, scoring and defending on all three levels. The Rockets have been inconsistent this season. We’re backing who our numbers suggest is the far better team to cover at -2 spread. A half unit is our stake.
