The Cavaliers have not been healthy to begin the 2023 season. A hamstring injury has tampered Cavs guard Darius Garland. Their center Jarrett Allen has been dealing with an ankle injury. Donovan Mitchell has missed a game as well. Tonight it’s possible that the Cavs will have Garland, Mitchell, Mobley, and Jarrett Allen all in the lineup for the first time since last April. Keep in mind, it’s the NBA, where they like to keep us on our toes with injuries and player availability. The Pacers have their best player Tyrese Haliburton listed as questionable with an ankle injury. The expectation is that all listed questionable players will be active tonight. The Pacers rank at the bottom of the NBA in defensive efficiency. This is a good spot for the Cavaliers offense to thrive. Cavaliers -1.5 is our wager.

It’s been a nightmare start for the Memphis Grizzlies. After finishing at the #2 seed in the west the last two regular seasons, the Grizzlies have started 2023 off with a goose egg in the win column through their first 5 games. Between injuries and suspensions, Memphis is missing a lot of the key pieces on their roster. The Grizzlies still have 3 All Star caliber players in their starting lineup with Jaren Jackson Jr., Desmond Bane, and Marcus Smart. The Portland Trail Blazers have won back to back games, being underdogs in both of them. Tonight the Blazers will be without their top draft pick Scoot Henderson, as well as Anfernee Simons. The Trail Blazers currently rank bottom 3 in the NBA in offensive efficiency, and effective field goal percentage. Portland also ranks at the bottom of the league in offensive turnover percentage. The Grizzlies offense hasn’t been much better, but we see a clear cut edge for the Memphis offense tonight. We anticipate the Grizzlies pushing the pace tonight, and taking advantage of Portland’s lack of scoring threats outside of Malcom Brogdon. Our wager is on the Grizzlies -3.
