Wisconsin vs. Iowa State 6:10pm
Iowa State pulled off a nice win in round 1 against LSU, but prior to that, they lost 3 games straight heading into the tournament. Wisconsin essentially gets a home game with this matchup being played in Milwaukee. Wisconsin is a better offensive team, and we will look for them to ride their offense to a victory today. Our bet is 1.5 units on the moneyline. We found the best price over at FanDuel.
Miami (FL) vs. Auburn 7:45pm
The Hurricanes really impressed us in round 1. Despite having one of their worst shooting games of the season (Miami shot 7% from 3 point range going 1/14), they still managed to knock off a talented USC team. If you dig into the KenPom adjusted offensive and defensive efficiency ratings, Miami is merely average on both sides of the ball. Where the Miami defense thrives is getting steals, where they rank top 15 in the nation. Miami is 11-3 against the spread as an underdog this season. We will grab the 7.5 points and hope for a much better shooting performance today, which should help keep this game within the number.
Texas vs. Purdue 8:40pm
For those who like Texas in this matchup, we recommend getting this bet in earlier rather than later. The sharper sportsbooks (such as Pinnacle and DeckPrism), have already dropped this line to 3. Remember, the goal in sports betting is to get strong closing line value, regardless of the result of the bet. We feel confident that this +3.5 ticket will close as a positive EV bet. Purdue is great offensively, however, KenPom ranks them 90th in the nation in adjusted defensive efficiency. Texas is a more well rounded team, led by a fantastic coach in Chris Beard that has had a lot of success in the NCAA tournament. We will grab the 3.5 points over at BetMGM.
