These teams played three times during the regular season. However, there were key players missing on one side or the other in all three of those games. It is worth noting, the Lakers defense has been one of the best units in the NBA down the stretch. Since March 1st, LA has the 4th best defensive rating in the league. The Grizzlies metrics since March are a bit skewed. Memphis had the #2 seed locked up, and opted to sit key players during the last week of the season. Many other teams around the league did the same. The Lakers were fighting down to the final game, which greatly improved their late season metrics. The offensive edge and overall net rating for the Grizzlies is pretty significant in this matchup.
