We believe this game is going to fall on the shoulders of North Carolina QB Drake Maye. Clemson will have a big advantage on the defensive side of the ball. However, on offense Clemson has been out of sorts. Clemson QB DJ Uiagalelei went 8 of 29 passing last week for just 99 yards in a loss against South Carolina. Despite showing flashes of his potential, DJ Uiagalelei has been inconsistent for the last 2 seasons. He has this Clemson offense ranked outside of the top 25 in offensive efficiency which is uncommon in this Dabo Swinney era. North Carolina ranks top 15 in offensive efficiency, and we trust their QB and offense more in this matchup. Defensively, North Carolina is not a good unit. Clemson should be able to move the ball through their rushing attack even if DJ Uiagalelei struggles. We will stress again that it will be on Drake Maye to keep pace. Given the hook here at +7.5, we will back the better offense and QB for a half unit.
