Heat +7.5 (-110)
Tonight we have one of the most exciting events in sports, a win or go home game 7! To make matters more exciting, the winner of this game will advance to the NBA finals. A couple notes to consider here. Looking back at game 6, if you solely look at the team stats, it’s hard to believe that Boston won the game. The Celtics shot 20% from three point range (7/35), and turned the ball over more than double as many times as Miami. The Heat shot an impressive 46% from three point range (14/30). However, Miami had a brutal game inside of the perimeter. The Heat shot just 35% overall from the floor (33/93). The stars on the Heat (Jimmy Butler & Bam Adebayo) did not play well offensively. The two combined for 35 points, but shot a poor 24% from the floor (9/37). Tonight we anticipate a more efficient performance from Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. For the Celtics, we anticipate this team shooting better than 20% from beyond the arc on their home floor. Last postseason (exactly one year ago), these two teams played a wild game 7 in the Eastern Conference finals (Celtics won 100-96). We anticipate another highly competitive game tonight, so we will opt to take the 7.5 points with the Heat. Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra has been in this spot many times before throughout his tenure. Celtics coach Joe Mazulla has done a great job keeping his team fighting this series, but his experience is still very limited as a first year head coach. Heat +7.5 is our bet. Enjoy the game and Happy Memorial Day!
