#1) CeeDee Lamb - Cowboys
2020 Stats:
(16 Games Played)
111 Targets
74 Receptions
935 Yards
6 Touchdowns
Breakdown:
It’s pretty straightforward what we like about CeeDee Lamb. Talent. If you aren’t familiar with CeeDee, head over to YouTube and check out some of the catches he’s been making during training camp. CeeDee Lamb has a rare ability to attack the football in the air, which should lead to a lot of touchdowns this season. Even without having Dak Prescott for the majority of last season, CeeDee was able to showcase his abilities and put up respectable rookie numbers.
We also love that CeeDee Lamb has two other very good wide receivers surrounding him in Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup. It will be very difficult for defenses to double team Lamb, and he will feast on 1 on 1 coverage. Let’s also not forget how bad this Cowboys defense was. They haven't done much in the offseason to address their poor defense, which means shootouts and high scoring games could be frequent. Our recommendation is to make sure you land CeeDee Lamb on your roster.
#2) Jerry Jeudy - Broncos
2020 Stats:
(16 Games Played)
113 Targets
52 Receptions
856 Yards
3 Touchdowns
Breakdown:
Some would say Jerry Jeudy had a disappointing rookie season. However, if you look at the numbers, there's a lot to like. Let’s start with the 113 targets. Jeudy saw his volume consistently increase throughout the season. We know Cortland Sutton will be back, but that will help create more space and opportunity for Jeudy, which should increase his production. The 3 TD’s are a bit concerning, but you have to remember the Broncos QB situation was a nightmare last year. We expect Drew Lock to play better this season. He’s got a big arm, and we know he’s not afraid to sling it downfield. Lock took shots at Jeudy down field last season, they just couldn't quite connect at an efficient rate. If Lock can't get it done, the Broncos have a reliable vet in Teddy Bridgewater ready to step in.
If the Broncos can get better QB play out of either Drew Lock or Teddy Bridgewater, the sky's the limit for Jerry Jeudy. Don’t be afraid to reach on him early if you get stuck in your draft. His talent is up there with anyone in the league. One of the top corners in the NFL (Xavien Howard) compared him to Davante Adams. Don't let the QB situation scare you off of him.
#3) Brandon Aiyuk - 49ers
2020 Stats:
(12 Games Played)
96 Targets
60 Receptions
748 Yards
7 Touchdowns
After Brandon Aiyuk finally got healthy last season, he went on a tear having 6 straight games with 5+ catches and 70+ yards. He averaged 17 points per game during that stretch (half point PPR). The only two wide receivers who averaged more points per game during that stretch were Tyreek Hill and Davante Adams. Aiyuk is a threat to take any given play to the house, and Kyle Shanahan is the perfect coach to find creative ways to get him the ball. If you’re looking for someone with huge upside, that is being drafted relatively late in drafts, Brandon Aiyuk is your guy.
