Phillies vs. Cubs 7:05pm
Phillies Moneyline (-132)
The Cubs were in a free fall prior to the All Star break, losing 9 of their last 10 games. The Phillies on the other hand, swept the Marlins prior to the break, and their starter (Kyle Gibson) has been fantastic in his last 2 starts. He's allowed just 6 hits total and 1 earned run in his last 13 innings. Cubs starter Justin Steele is a solid young lefty, but he struggles on the road. Outside of Chicago, Steele is 0-2 with a 5.86 ERA. The Phillies also hit left handed pitching very well. Our bet is one unit on the Phillies moneyline.
Rays @ Royals 8:10pm
Rays Moneyline (-125)
The Rays were playing great baseball heading into the All Star break, winning 6 of their last 7 games. Their bats were hot, and they were getting a ton of production from their elite bullpen. The Rays bullpen has been their edge all season, and it is their edge in this game. The Royals have a bottom 5 bullpen in the MLB. In terms of the starting pitchers, Drew Rasmussen has been solid for the Rays this season. He's allowed 5 hits or less in his last 3 starts. Royals starter Brad Keller is a talented young pitcher, he may even have an edge here over Rasmussen. However, the discrepancy in the bullpens and offenses is far more significant than the gap between these starters. At this (-125) price, we will back the Rays.
Giants @ Dodgers 10:10pm
Giants Moneyline (+124)
Here we are going to take a flyer behind Giants starting pitcher Logan Webb. The Giants have won the last 2 games Webb has started, and he's been consistent for them all season. The Dodgers have not faced Logan Webb yet this season, but the Giants went 4-1 behind Webb against the Dodgers last season/postseason. Dodgers starter Tyler Anderson is having a career year and has been one of the breakout players in the MLB. However, his career numbers suggest regression could be around the corner. We are rolling with a one unit bet on the road dogs.
