Harvard vs. Louisiana-Lafayette
Harvard +2.5 (-105)
First things first. It's important to note that this game, along with many others, is being played at a neutral site. Home court advantage plays a large role in college basketball, but that will not be part of the equation here. Both of these teams came away with wins in their opening games, but we don't put much stake into either of those wins. Our numbers suggest that the wrong team is favored here, but we will take the points just in case. Harvard head coach Tommy Amaker has built this program into a team we see in March quite often. Their pedestrian 13-13 record in the 2021/22 campaign was largely due to a handful of injuries. We will trust our numbers here and back Harvard plus the points.
George Mason vs. Longwood
George Mason -7.5 (-110)
We saw both of these teams face stiff competition in their season openers. George Mason lost to Auburn, and Longwood lost to Alabama. We expect George Mason to turn some heads in the Atlantic 10 conference this year led by forward Josh Oduro. George Mason also welcomed in Tennessee transfer Victor Bailey Jr. While Bailey Jr. struggled from the field in the opener, we expect a better performance tonight. Look for him to help the Patriots cover this spread in their home arena tonight.
Wisconsin vs. Stanford 7:30pm
Wisconsin -3.5 (-115)
Here we have yet another game being played at a “neutral site”. The reason for the quotations is that it is being played right in Wisconsin’s backyard, American Family Field, home of the Milwaukee Brewers. This Wisconsin team has been flying under the radar a bit. Sure, replacing Johnny Davis is a tall task, but this team is just a year removed from winning the Big Ten. With the Badgers returning multiple starters from a year ago, and the addition of Wofford transfer Max Klesmit, we expect this Wisconsin team to sneak up on those who wrote them off in the preseason. Our bet is on the Badgers to cover.
