2 NFL Teams That Are Significantly Better Than Their Record Indicates
Los Angeles Rams
Record: 3-8
ATS Record: 3-7-1
The reigning Super Bowl Champions are having a disappointing season to say the least. Their playoff chances this season are slim to none. Only the Houston Texans and Chicago Bears have a worse record.

Now the question is how did this talented Rams roster end up with a 3-8 record to this point? When you dive into the numbers, the answer is very simple. It's the offensive line. The Rams had a poor offensive line to begin with, and they suffered several injuries to that already thin offensive line. Those injuries caused Matthew Stafford to be left unprotected, which caused him to battle injuries all season. The offensive line failed to create consistent holes to get the rushing attack going. Then you sprinkle in a Cooper Kupp injury, and he we are at 3-8.

All that being said, this Rams defense has done their part this season, and they remain an elite unit. Our numbers have the Rams ranked as a top 5 defense in the league, and the #1 defense against the run. It will be interesting to see how the bookmakers value this Rams team moving forward. The defense is healthy and intact, but the offense is still a mess. We expect to see some progression in the Rams ATS record throughout the remainder of the season.

Pittsburgh Steelers
Record: 4-7
ATS Record: 5-5-1
The Steelers are coming off of a nice primetime win on the road against the Colts. This team has battled a lot of key injuries on the defensive side of the ball this season. Between the early injuries on defense (lost TJ Watt in week 1), and the inconsistent play of quarterbacks Mitch Trubisky and rookie Kenny Pickett, it's been tough sledding for Mike Tomlin.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin has never had a losing season in his NFL head coaching career, and he's in danger this season of losing that streak. The good news for Mike Tomlin is that there is a lot to like about the Steelers moving forward. First and foremost, the defense is healthy. TJ Watt and Minkah Fitzpatrick are back on the field. On the offensive side of the ball, Kenny Pickett is getting more comfortable in the offense each week. He's showed a lot of progression already between each start, and we expect that to continue. The Steelers offense has plenty of playmakers behind Dionte Johnson, George Pickens, Najee Harris, etc. The offensive line has been good in pass protection, although they have struggled run blocking.

We like this Steelers team moving forward. This group will look to build momentum and find their identity heading into next season. Expect to see them play their remaining opponents tough, and to fight to keep their coaches streak alive!
